In times past, when a victim of ID Theft had unauthorized accounts opened in their name(s), Law Enforcment was required to seek a SEARCH WARRANT to receive documents created by the crooks.  This meant a lot of paperwork, trip to the courthouse and visit with the Judge.

California Penal Code section 530.8 allows victim's to receive copies of all documents generated and can even desigate a Law Enforcement Officer to receive them!
